Services / Application review

Confidence starts
with a tested setup.

Match the optical port, probe interface and host software before moving from a sample to a project order.

The complete connection / Not just the connector

Three parts of a local optical communication setup An electricity meter optical port connects to a probe. The probe connects by a selected interface to a host device and its software. All three parts need review. 01 / Meter02 / Probe03 / Host + software Exact model & optical portOptics & interfaceOS, driver & protocol LOCAL COMMUNICATION / SCHEMATIC

A connection schematic, not a product specification. The final configuration depends on your application.

01 / Sample validation

Review. Test.
Then scale.

An interface label or a meter brand is not enough to confirm compatibility. A useful decision starts with the exact working environment.

01

Describe the application

Share the meter model, optical-port photo, authorized task and host setup. Include any known communication parameters.

02

Agree on a sample plan

Review the candidate interface and the checks required. Confirm sample availability, documentation and commercial terms before ordering.

03

Test in your actual environment

Use your meter, host device and authorized software. Record the settings, results and any errors so the same setup can be evaluated.

04

Define the order configuration

Use the validated combination to discuss quantity and repeat orders. A different meter model or host setup may need a new review.

02 / Prepare your brief

A few precise details.
A much better conversation.

A / METER

Identify the optical port

  • Brand and complete model number
  • Clear front and optical-port photos
  • Firmware version, if available
  • IEC / ANSI interface, if known
B / ENVIRONMENT

Describe the host

  • PC, handheld or mobile device
  • Operating system and software
  • USB-A, USB-C, RS232, BLE or SPP
  • Communication settings or error log
C / APPLICATION

Explain the actual task

  • Testing, calibration or field service
  • Authorized read or configuration task
  • Sample and estimated project quantity
  • Country and required timeframe

Not sure about a parameter? Mark it as unknown. A clear photo and an accurate model number are a useful starting point.

03 / Two routes to the right configuration

Project / OEM requirements

Define the requirement
before the promise.

For test benches, project deployments or branded supply, share the required interface, installation method, cable arrangement and labeling needs.

Custom configurations, neutral packaging and OEM requests are subject to model-specific feasibility and commercial review. They are not standard commitments.

Discuss a project

Regional distribution

Build a range around
your customers.

Tell us which metering, laboratory or engineering customers you serve and which interfaces they use. Start with a focused mix and sample evaluation.

Discuss quantities, documentation and packaging for the proposed models before deciding on a wholesale order.

Distributor inquiry

Documentation / Confirm by model

Request the relevant specifications, connection notes, driver information, communication settings and available compliance documents for the exact configuration. Do not assume that a certificate, SDK or software package is included unless it is explicitly confirmed.

04 / Common questions

Clear answers.
Clear boundaries.

Does an IEC optical port guarantee compatibility?

No. The exact meter, firmware, optical interface, communication settings and host software still matter. Review the configuration and validate a sample before scaling.

Are BLE and Bluetooth SPP interchangeable?

No. They use different host connections and software support. Confirm the profile expected by your device and application rather than selecting “Bluetooth” alone.

Does a probe provide meter passwords or authorization?

No. A probe is a communication interface. Credentials, access permissions and any required licensed software must come from the authorized meter or system owner.

Can I order a customized or OEM configuration?

Send the requirement for review. Feasibility, sample work, documentation, quantities and terms must be agreed for the proposed configuration. No custom capability is implied by this page.
